Challenge

Currently over 1000 children lost their parents by the massive land slides that occurred in Bududa district, eastern Uganda. The victims survived the disaster because it happened during school days and on return to their respective residential s, they found their homes ravaged and parents missing. These children are at a risk of starvation, failed education as they are not guaranteed basic necessities. This project will affect more than 500 orphans who reside in relocated places.

Solution

Acquired skills provides self employment, self care and access to basic rights like education. The orphans looking after fellow orphans are trained in child care.

Long-Term Impact

The project will educate 320 orphans allowing them to rise out of poverty which will provide for their health and access to basic human rights like education
