This is an exciting time for Better Family Foundation (BFF) for many reasons.
1. Our work in the domain of village water systems has been busier than ever! With this comes the creation of more and more village water management committees.
2. Mr. Mbeng Simon, the Director of BFF, has just returned from The Gambia where he attended a Peace Corps/USAID WASH Conference. He has now been selected to as the chief facilitator/organizer of a similar conference here in Cameroon for Peace Corps Cameroon.
3. We have expanded our partnerships with both Peace Corps and WaterCharity and are seeing the possibility for more funding in order to carry out our work.
How do those items affect this project?
Well, we are beginning to lobby Peace Corps Cameroon to give us assistance to push this WMC Symposium forward. We are eager to obtain these funds not only to carry out this project, but to expand its scope! Ideally, this project will now encompass bring in many lessons learned from The Gambia pertaining to WASH considerations. We are realizing what a valuable tool for community outreach/sensitization WMCs can be! So, we figured, while we have them amassed together it is best to continue teaching them how they can be sanitation and hygiene leaders in their respective communities.
We are very excited about these new ideas/new approaches and look forward to having an opportunity to see them come to fruition!
