Water Management Symposium
By Mbeng Simon | Director
Bringing water to communities in Cameroon is one thing and managing
the water is yet another thing. In order to ensure effective
management of water and ensures its purity for the health of the
population Better Family Foundation has signed a memorandum of
understanding with Fundong council in order to improve on the
management of water schemes.
We have been sensitising the various communities in Fundong
Municipality on the need to have a symposium during which an
association could be put in place to oversee the management of water
schemes in various villages.
So far a lot of ground work has been going on and we hope by October
2014 the symposium will take place. In this respect we are canvasing
for funds from internal and external donors in order to make this
happen.
We thank all who are making an effort to donate towards the success of
this program and plead on them to continue to spread the word to
friends and relatives.
Best,
Simon

Formation of a joined water management scheme.
By Mbeng Simon Nsah | The Director BFF
Better Family Foundation has come to realize that if all the water management committees in Fundong Subdivision form a common associatioin, there will be a common ground where ideas and experiences will be shared thereby improving every village water management scheme.
Presently we are working out a memorandum of understanding with Fundong Municipal council in order to facilitate the invitation and organization of all village water management committees within Fundong Municipality to a symposium. The council being a legal instutition will be brought in during the next symposium in order to ensure an effective management of all water schemes within the municipality.
We are currently raising money for the symposium through friends abroad, Fundong council, Better Family Foundation members and Global Giving. Presently we are identying all the water managemnet committees within the subdivision in order to draw up the supposed participants for the forthcoming symposium. We do hereby thank all those who making effort to donate funds towards this symposium. The project is progressing on very well as all stake-holders are showing commitment to the project.

First Symposium Done! With many more to come !
By Mbeng Simon Nsah | The Director of BFF
Since July 2013, BFF has been busy organizing a community water
management symposium. This symposium which intended drawing together
10 educators and 30 water management members was finally held for two
days on the 13th and 14th July 2013.
It was organised and facilitated by both BFF members and some experts
drawn from Peace Corps Cameroon program as well as the ministry of
environment in Cameroon.
Participants went home being highly motivated and pleaded for more of
such symposium to be organized in the near future. BFF therefore
intends to keep organizing such symposium as long as there are funds
in order to ensure permanent clean and safe water in Cameroon.
This symposium was organized with funds from Peace Corps and Global
Giving donations. We are presently trying to evaluate and monitor the
effects of the symposium on our community and schools.
We kindly thank all those who contributed the money to make this
symposium a success. We pray that they keep on supporting us and
causing others to do same.
Thanks.
