The 5 female Congolese university students continue to audit their medical and law classes in the hope of staying in the way of their degree programs as they await financial support. The young ladies were quite encouraged that we posted their plight on GlobalGiving and even more encouraged to see that $1,000 has been donated toward their tuition needs.
The 5 young ladies along with a number that are on a scholarship program waiting list, gathered together with Neema, SAFECO’s executive director, in March to exchange updates.
All are very appreciative of the attention being directed toward their receiving an education that will not only enable a different future for these young ladies, but also tilt a paradigm shift toward more female doctors and lawyers in DR Congo.
Project Reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
