The first quarter of the year 2012 is not one of the more prosperous times for UKUN. While we continue providing services to those who are meant to be served by the program we continue to encounter multiple issues mostly due to lack of resources. The underlying message behind the quarterly report is mainly to raise the awareness towards the needs of the institution in the short and long term.
Major accomplishments in Q-I 2012:
1- Securing a shipment of medical supplies much needed for patient care. The items donated to the institution include basic first aid kit components, disinfectants, nutritional supplements and other components for supporting patient care. All items were locally purchased through the donated monies.
2- Received a donation of medical supplies from US/Canada. Items include blood collection vials, blood pressure machines (portable and fixed)
Expansion Plans for QII-2012
1- Hiring a full time nurse at the facility to cater for patient care and attend to the "walk-in" population.
2- Secure a purchase of nutritional supplement epap to be purchase from local supplier.
3- Expand on volunteer capacity from contracts with other local companies as well as self advertising and promoting.
4- Apply for grants worldwide to help support the NGO financially to continue with its services.
