NL is one the youth trained and become and became an entrepreneur in her community. NL is becoming exemplary in her community basing on the diversity of income generating activities she is managing. NL in her interaction with the field staff says, “I decided to diversify my income generating activities to overcome the unpredictable weather that I had experienced over time. Initially I was relying mostly on crop growing but the rains were unpredictable and I could make losses after a whole season.
With a piece of advice and technical support from Kitovu Mobile, I changed my mind and integrated livestock production in my farming business. I now have a diary cow on zero grazing and I have established a banana plantation on top of other horticultural (vegetable) crops. I apply manure from the Dairy cow to my gardens to improve on the soil fertility.
The dairy cow project has proved to be a viable project to me. For the past five months I have been earning averagely 4000/= UGX ~ $ 1.5 USD from the sale of milk as my net profit”.
With such tangible results; at Kitovu Mobile we say it is possible to reduce rural youth urban migration and make entrepreneurs. Join us and transform the nation.
