New to a Playworks School
New to his school, Noah started off first grade very shy and quiet. He did not want to go outside for recess, and when he did, he would not play with any other kids. One of his first recess experiences was being accidentally tripped in a rush of the other students.
On the second day, Noah had lined up to go inside after only a few minutes of recess. Coach Heather invited him play jump rope with her and two other students. He joined them for the rest of recess. Over the course of the next week, Coach Heather continued to invite him to join the games that she was playing. Some days he would play and others he would remain with his teacher.
One day he joined Coach Heather with a small group of boys kicking a soccer ball. The next day when she went to look for Noah, his teacher pointed that he was already out, back with the soccer ball. A little over a month into school Noah is inseparable from his soccer friends. He is often the first of them to get the ball and always returns with a huge smile and a high-five for Coach Heather.
