Transporting Medical Textbooks to Malawi

by Medic to Medic Ltd

Medic to Medic supports disadvantaged students training as healthworkers in Malawi. Our current project is raising money to transport donated medical textbooks to our students and universities where we work. Mzuzu University in the north of the country is where our nursing project is located. Mzuzu's library was destroyed by a fire in 2015, burning over 45,000 textbooks, computers and furniture, leaving many students stranded. We have a large number of resources to transport to Malawi.
total goal

There are minimal library resources at Mzuzu University library following a fire in their library in December 2015. An electrical fault was thought to have caused the fire.

We have many donated medical resources and textbooks from our supporters. Unfortunately medical textbooks are very costly to transport and it is adding additional logistical challenges onto our ongoing charitable activities.

Long-Term Impact

Students training as nurses at Mzuzu University have many challenges. One being, that they do not have access to the resources they require for their training. Having access to textbooks and a library will ensure students have the appropriate knowledge to become expert qualified nurses and face the challenge of working in a health system with a shortage of health professionals.
