Local Masks

Dear Well-wishers,

Regards from Gram Vikas Trust, Bharuch.

During the lockdown situation, our health leaders have done really good job. Many of them have not only stitched masks, but also have supported in distributing to the needy ones. As the situation of Covid-19 emerged, many of our functions were not possible, our field staff are not allowed to visit the field, as well as our beneficiaries are also advised not to visit to our centers.

Our health leaders are also not able to work in the field, and they have to remain at their home. During this situation one of our health leader, have suggested to stitch masks and distribute to our office staff and other needy person in contact with us. This idea was shared to our seniors and he really appreciate this idea. Sultanaben (name changed) who were the initiator has asked to her other friends to join in this noble cause. In few days almost 26 women (8 Health leaders) have shown their interest in stitching mask without any penny.

GVT supported these women by providing raw materials, and clothe for making the masks. The clothe were donated by one of the likeminded person. Within few days our health leaders and women have able to stitch more than 5000 masks in different sizes. Which we have distributed in slum area of Bharuch city, and some of the villages without any fees from the beneficiaries.

This noble cause were appreciated by many of the persons. GVT tries to engage other women and also wish that who are helping the needy people by stitching the masks are also paid some amount of money for their efforts. As they are giving their time as well as energy for it. Let us come together to support the needy one.
