Thanks for Supporting Self-Employment for 5,000 Unemployed Graduates
Donations Made in 10 days = US$ 1,187.00 | Donations to Make in 20 days = US$ 2,813
Our programme – Self-Employment for 5,000 Unemployed Graduates – which you started supporting from 2 August 2011 has received US$1,187.00 to date (US$307 global, online and US$880 local, offline donations). We are excited to give you this update in appreciation of your prompt and generous support. We are all aware of what is happening in so many countries due partly to youth unemployment. Thank you – you are a true friend of youth and development. Your continued support will be greatly appreciated.
The youth want to work but they need your support to make it into self-employment or jobs. Totally Youth is proud to inform you that your donations will have a direct impact on unemployed graduates in our capacity building, internship and incubation programmes and will ensure that they move into their own businesses in the shortest possible time. For example:
- US$350 means that one young Radio Producer now in incubation will continue to have access to WiFi Internet, laptop, furnished office space, office facilities, utilities and allowance for transportation and meals for a month. He will receive daily counselling and mentoring in developing scripts, synopsis, proposals and marketing strategies for his innovative idea on boosting sales of local products and produce, while improving the health of workers and buyers of these products. This is a sound and practical idea which can be produced and marketed successfully to government, radio and television stations as well as the industries concerned. It is a corporate rebranding concept which can change the content and direction of advertising. Once his ideas are scripted and produced, he will start earning money on a regular basis. Your donations so far can take this radio producer and two more unemployed graduate towards self-employment through incubation.
- US$200 means that one unemployed graduate will be able to attend a one-month capacity-building programme to prepare her for the world of business or work. The programme will teach her, skills to help her set up their own business or get a job. She will be trained to understand the fundamentals of work and her individual role in ensuring quality, quantity and timeliness of product to ensure prosperity for employer and employee. We will teach her to understand and appreciate the inter-linkages between various career and business elements (e.g.: job-description-performance-product-revenue-salary). She will also learn how to use ICT for operations and management and how to write resumes (CVs), job applications and business plans. The programme will enhance her prospects for a job or self-employment. She will also have unlimited access to WiFi Internet and laptops for job search and business planning. Your donations so far are sufficient to help five unemployed graduates enhance their prospects to self-employment or to jobs. Thank you.
We are truly grateful for your donations and sincerely hope that you will continue to help us reach the target of getting 5,000 unemployed young graduates into self-employment or jobs.
