This program gives low-income children aged 6 to 12 who reside in Chicago the opportunity to participate in our "To the Moon After School Arts & Education". "To the Moon" encompasses more than just an after-school program. We provide children a safe environment to engage with and learn new skills. Additionally, the kids will have the opportunity to attend field trips, receive healthy meals, lessons in fashion design, arts and crafts, music development, sports and more!
Parents want the best opportunities for their children. They want to give them to have whatever it takes to be happy and successful - good health, ability to get along with others, thinking and problem-solving skills, and a good sense of self. The after school and summer camp experience offers just that, in a safe environment away from the distractions and sometimes hostile environment of the city. However, in most cases, these programs are unaffordable for many families.
Our after-school Program is FREE of Charge and provides a safe place for the kids to learn, have fun and assists families that may not be able to afford other After School programs.
After-school programs are implemented to prevent adverse outcomes, decrease risk, or improve functioning with at-risk youth in several areas, including academic achievement, crime and behavioral problems, socio-emotional functioning, and school engagement and attendance.
