Challenge

90 % of men scavengers involved in manual scavenging occupation in Tirunelveli Corporation slum of Tamilnadu India die in their early ages. Their widowed wifes are working as domestic workers, sweepers, scavengers etc.,. Because of the meager income the semi orphan, orphan children are managing their studies with only set of uniform with few note books for all subjects. Because of the pathetic situation of the poor students are discriminated and treated indignity by the co-student.

Solution

The project will provide two sets of uniforms, note books, writing materials and school bags for one year to 1000 students each. These school materials will help to make them happy and feel dignified in their school.

Long-Term Impact

One thousand poor school going children of manual scavengers of Tirunelveli corporation slum shall have two sets of uniforms, note books, writing materials and school bags would give dignified feeling. This also shall create awareness to the parents to take care and comfort of the children.
