As another great school year comes to a close, New Community for Children is still in work mode, preparing for our summer program. For 6 weeks this summer, we will have 75 kids on site from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday through Friday! Our theme for this summer is 'Read with Me, Learn with Me' which supports our focus on literacy by encouring families and the community to take an active role in helping our students become better and more enthusiastic readers.
Our students will be emersed in acadmically and socially enriching programming such as daily classroom instruction, karate, art, photography, and gardening. The most exciting component for the summer is the Community Literacy Project. This component will allow students to produce short video segments to share what books they're reading, book reviews and what they're learning this summer at NCFC. The videos will be shared with their families, friends and other kids in their community!
This is going to be an exciting summer at New Community for Children! We welcome visitors and friends to our regular Kids in Motion tours so that . Our one-hour tours take place twice monthly.
