Implementation
By Bharati Vajjhala | Project Fundraiser
We are happy to announce that the Project Implementation (525) report has been approved by EWB Nationals. The design was accepted as proposed and we are currently on track to starting construction in May. Two separate trips are planned for the implementation phase (May and August 2011). This phase entails a tremendous effort for everyone involved. Construction will begin on May 18th and continue until the planned inauguration of the water system in September, 2011. Construction of a water pumping system in the village of Tingo Pucara in the Andes in Ecuador is ready to commence! We are really short on funds - please help!

2010 Visit
A site visit was scheduled between September 1st to 12th by CMU students and EWB-Pitt professional members to finalize the design phase. A complete Design Report will be submitted to the Nationals EWB for review and approval by November 15th, 2010.
The EWB project members have been divided into six sub-teams. Each team is specifically targeting the following aspects of the design:
- Pumping details (staged).
- Intake Structure at source.
- Piping and Distribution system.
- Storage Tank.
- Electrical and energy requirements.
- Community Education - long term sustainability.
Upon approval of the proposed design, an implementation trip is planned in January and April/May 2011.
