This project will help adults struggling with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) get to a treatment facility anywhere in the United States that they have been accepted to, but cannot afford to purchase a plane ticket to get there.
In 2020, accorcding to the National Center for Health Statistics at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were over 93,000 overdoses that resulted in death due to Substance Use Disorder. This does not include suicides. Substance Use Disorder will continue to be an epidemic and cause more deaths if people don't start taking this more seriously. We will keep losing our family members and friends until we start addressing this problem.
This project will help those struggling with substance use disorder take the first step to getting help. Many of those who get scholarships to a treatment facility do no have the funds to get there. So out Ticket to Recovery program will help them start their recovery.
The program will show over 40 adults struggling with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), how to cope with life on life's terms without the use of drugs and alcohol. Which will cut down the overdose rates and give awareness to the community that recovery is possible.
