This past summer, we welcomed Hopkinton Middle School to BITS for the SOAR program. And yes, you read that right we invited the entire school! Throughout the summer each week we had diffeent groups of students attend our SOAR program for equine therapy and mental health counseling. This program was very successful, and we loved having these students here! A bigger bonus is that we worked with the school and were awarded a grant to cover the costs (both program costs and transportation costs) COMPLETELY for these students.
We are so grateful for the opportunity we had to host Hopkinton Middle School here for the summer. We want to thank you all for the support that you all have given to this program and we love seeing the growth and impact that this program makes!
We are very excited to share some of our findings from our SOAR program surveys. Throughout the SOAR programs we have run in the past, we collected before and after surveys to track how our program impacts our clients. Those surveys were measuring a variety of mental health markers that indicate depression, anxiety, and social well-being.
Here is what the data on our SOAR program is saying. After attending our program, our clients are reporting:
-an increase in confidence
-a large increase in self worth
-a decrease of depression and anxiety
-an increased feeling of peer support
We are so glad to find these results for our SOAR program! What we do makes a difference in these kids lives, and is important. Thank you so much for all your support in these programs. Because of YOU, we can make a difference in these kids lives.
We ask that you continue this support by sharing the word about our programs and how they help those in our community. Thank you once again for all of your support!
We wanted to let you all know of a very exciting step forward for our SOAR program. The New Hampshire Charitable Foundations, which has been our largest donor to support the SOAR program, recently posted an article about the impact of our SOAR program!
This article does a great job of capturing what the program is meant to do, and what it feels like to be a part of the program as one of our clients was interviewed for this article. You'll find the article listed below, and we hope you give it a read-through! We hope this article will help reach more individuals in our area in need of the SOAR program, as well as connect us with more supporters of this incredible program.
We want to thank all of you for the amazing support you have provided not only to the SOAR program, but the great work we love at BITS. We would not be here without all of you!
