The Sara King Scholarship Fund for Marine Research

Sara King was a passionate influencer and supporter of GVI Trust. Starting her Marine Ventures in Madagascar and working with GVI in Fiji before Co-Founding Evolve Abroad where she took up the adventure at Sea to lead research on ocean plastics. Sadly Sara passed away in a terrible accident at Sea. This project is in honour of Sara to help other young passionate people to enter Marine Research and continue the research and protection of our Oceans.

The Ocean makes up a large proportion of our earth and we still do not know everything about it but continue to pollute and damage the ocean eco-systems. We need a large number of researchers and passionate ambassadors to monitor, research, protect and promote the ocean across the world. Together we are all responsible.

This scholarship project is continuing the vital research needed and providing resources, funding and access to young people to learn and become future ambassadors to lead change and protect our oceans.

Long-Term Impact

This project tackles a number of UN SDG's but focuses on Life under the sea. We aim to train and recruit a wide network of researchers and ambassadors that will influence every community around the world to work together to protect and save our oceans.
