The roof on our building is leaky and full of holes. We are afraid that one day it will fall in on our heads... What are we doing in a building with a leaky roof? The building is our Foundation home. Its a good place, the heart of our community from where we help literally thousands of others. It is a space/home for everyone who wants to do good deeds, a place for the dedicated and motivated where we share our knowledge passion and talents........but it urgently needs a new roof!
Our foundation operates and conducts all its actions in a historic building in Zywiec. This tenement house is a place where Jewish shops were located before World War II, the Gestapo operated during the war, and the office of the secret police in communist Poland after the war. We want to remember this difficult history, but also to "disenchant" this place and bring it back to the inhabitants. We have been doing major renovations for several years. Now we are facing the need to make a new roof.
This project will give us the opportunity to continue our activity. Helping people in difficult life situation. They have been out of work for many years, struggling with diseases or addictions. We help them return to the labor market through daily vocational workshops. There is a Refugee Help Center in our building. It is here that people who escaped from the war learn Polish, receive legal and psychological help.
Roof renovation will allow us to safely and stably operate in the building. Organize workshops, training, educational and cultural events. We will be able to continue to create a resident's club, help the lonely, the sick, refugees and everyone who needs support.People from different backgrounds and cultures will meet in the building. In the basement of our building, a museum of the history of the city and Poland will be created, taking into account the pre-war history of Jews,
