This program is spearheaded in Baltimore and Prince George's county to help individuals looking to improve their financial, personal and career opportunities. The project will help with training for softskills, investment basic, banking, workforce development, professional development, and mental wellness.
With 72% of children living in poverty with parents with only a high school diploma we need to train adults in upcoming fields with and without degrees (NCCP. 2018). This poverty led Baltimore to the most dangerous city in America in 2018. With many low income residents living without hope of a better tomorrow the city continues to spiral; however, giving people an opportunity to change their own outcomes is the beginning of a better city.
This project will directly train and support participants in: softskills, IT and tech certifications, wellness, financial management workshops, and workforce development. This program is giving real opportunities to all not just the youth and people with degrees.
This should impact the 71% of children and families living in poverty to improve not only the parents future, but the children. Exposure to new ideas is key to breaking cycles of crime and poverty.
