The Dougy Center has begun selling raffle tickets for a 2011 Porsche Boxster at $100 each and only 2,000 will be sold. So far only about 1,000 have been sold and 1,000 are still available. We are also actively procuring auction items for our live and silent auction. The drawing for the Boxster will be held at our annual gala, Reflection, on May 14, 2011 at The Governor Hotel in downtown Portland. This gala begins with a champagne reception, a silent auction, a "super silent" auction, a dinner and live auction. The evening concludes with the drawing for the winner of a 2011 Porsche Boxster.
The funding we have raised with Global Giving helps us to buy the supplies we need to run our program. We need items that range from popcorn, M&Ms, coffee, tea, art supplies, to printer paper for our office. It costs $1,500 to sponsor one child for a year and we have come close to raising enough to sponsor one child so far with this project.
The Volunteer Appreciation Party was held on January 28th at The Governor Hotel. Volunteer Dean Conklin was honored for his 25 years of service with The Dougy Center. TDC depends greatly on our 175+ volunteers who help with group facilitation, office work, event support, etc.
