The Dougy Center's annual Fall Event will be held at The Governor Hotel in downtown Portland at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011. This is an opportunity to fund raise with a complimentary and educational lunch, and raise funds for the peer support groups of children, teens, young adults and their families in our program this next year -- directly impacting the lives of those who have experienced the death of a mom, dad, brother or sister. If you are interested in attending or hosting a table of 10, please contact Marcia Director, Chief Development Officer, at marcia@dougy.org or Brennan Wood, Director of Development & Communications at brennan@dougy.org.
It costs $1,500 a year to sponsor a child, teen, or young adult in our peer support program. Funds raised for this project will help to cover the cost of facility rentals, M&M candies, snacks, art supplies, candles for remembrance ceremonies, printer paper and more.
Father's Day of this year will marked the two year anniversary of the arson fire that destroyed our main building in 2009. The Dougy Center held groups the very next day and never missed a group since the fire. The process of building a new site is in progress and a capital campaign to raise the money needed has begun.
Peer support groups will begin again this month in September after breaking for the summer months.
The Dougy Center's annual raffle for a 2012 Porche Boxster will begin in December. Tickets are $100 each and cap at 2,000 ticket sales.
