Challenge

The present schools in the operational area in INDIA do not give much importance to the teaching of art and craft. only 10% schools have trained teachers teaching art and craft to children. Other schools manage with general teachers. Lack of proper facility deprives the children to develop creativity and imagination through a range of complex activities, to increase their critical awareness of the roles and purposes of art, craft and to develop children's knowledge, skills and understanding.

Solution

The project has started a school with 51 children who attend classes every Saturday and Sundays. It aims to develop children's knowledge, skills and understanding, creativity and imagination through different activities. It enables children to communicate what they see, feel and think through the use of color, texture, pattern and materials. Children become involved in shaping their environments through art and craft activities and explore impact of art on life. This will solve the above problems.

Long-Term Impact

The project will teach 100 school children art and craft and develop their inner potential as an artist. It will further enable them to increase their creativity, understanding and skills. Indirectly few more students (children) will be benefited when participate in different activities organised by the school. There will be a growing interest of the community and parents as an impact of this teaching. Few of the children may adopt art as career, others may take craft as income generation in life
