We wish to help identify talents from among the youth within Matharau slums, nature these talents and develop them. These talents ranges from singing, dancing, sports, acting, drawing & design and others. Besides identifying, we are going to offer skills training to the selected best and help them shape their lives prudently. This will greatly boast individual & community economic development
The biggest problem within Matharau slums is low or lack of basic education. Community within this slum area are a tormented people by successive government operatives. They have been used and dumped by elite people in Gvt. Their children are no better. many are drug peddlers, substance abusers and worst of all; early pregnancy for girls as early as 12 years.
This project will greatly bring this destitute youth from the lane of destruction to self realization, self dependent, and most of all self respect. Success of this project will make these people no longer goons for hire but productive people.
1. Importance of education: As a correction measure, this project will rebuild hope to the young and vulnerable, and take them back to schooling. 2. Early pregnancies: this is the biggest problem to be solved by this project. girls as young as 12 are either pregnant or aborting, or delivering and dumping. this will drastically change positively. 3. Skills development. Boys and girls will identify their potential talents and promote them into life skills, thus economic empowerment.
