In addition to making sure that the kids of New Hope Centre are cared for physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally, we feel that it is vitally important to enrich their experiences with the arts. Many are involed in dance lessons and performances while others excel in drawing and painting. We recently had two young Taiwaneses art teachers with us who instructed some of our kids in various artistic techniques. Near the end of their time with us, we hostedt he annual art exhibition for our region.
Five art categories were featured: sketching, watercolors, pastels and pastel soft, acrylics. For each there was a first, second and third prize. Several of our own students, Moriah, Apphia, Keturah and Mishael won top awards. A representative from the mayor’s office in Matsapha, Emanuel, served as one of the judges. He is a lively young man who made it fun and encouraging for the students to aim for their best.
The Taiwanese art teachers also helped Apphia, Priscilla and Jedidiah with art work For All Africa Student Convention being held this month. Sadly, corona virus has cancelled the usual 5000 to 7000 students who usually attend from all over Africa and it will be done virtually instead.
We are so grateful for you. With your support we are able to not only care for necessities for the kids of NHC, but to add wonderful enrichment.
Thank you from our hearts,
