This Project will install a sustainable WASH Infrastructure in the Government Schools of Nepal which will provide students with the easy accessibility of clean safe drinking water, better hygiene awareness , CDGE Friendly Sanitation Facilities and better water sources management. This will directly benefit the child health and their education. It will prevent girls students from skipping the schools during their period. It also emphasizes on the equity in the WASH Infrastructure in school.
School going students are affected due to the unavailability of clean safe drinking water, better hygiene awareness about the critical times of hand washing behaviors and unequal accessibility of sanitation facilities. School going girl students tend to miss the school days because of lack of girls friendly sanitation facilities and schools are not providing water facilities (due to lack of it) towards hand washing and toilet cleaning facilities.
Installation of the better filter system will provide students with the clean safe drinking water. Hygiene awareness workshops and 7FATS approach will encourage the schools to have a systematic analysis of the Hygiene practices and total sanitation program in the Schools. CDGE Friendly Sanitation Facilities can make the schools infrastructure accessible to all and differently able students. Rain water Harvesting will develop a culture of alternative sources of water facilities to the schools.
The installation of the better WASH Infrastructure at the government schools of Nepal will enhance the opportunity of better infrastructure in such schools and better learning environment. Community can also have the access to the Clean safe drinking water through KIOSK Unit at the reasonable rates assisting in the sustainability of the project.
