Hello FCDE Supporters,

I hope Spring is beautiful wherever this e-mail finds you. Our Sping is off to a great start.  For FCDE and our internship prorgam Isla, Spring means preparing for interns who will work with our Ugandan local partners. This summer five University students will donate their time and skills to help our local partners be more effective in their work.

Isla internships are a key part of how we enable local Ugandan organizations to better provide development services to their communities.  Our interns will develop business skills, help at-risk youth or push forward conservation projects depending on their specific internship. At the core of their work is helping to transfer skills and provide needed support to local Ugandan non-profits that work in these impoverished areas.

We are pleased to announce a new partnership that will initiate this summer. Global Health Corps (GHC) is a US-based non-profit that awards year-long fellowships to individuals who want work interntionally in support of health projects. GHC will plaof pce two of their fellows at our Kasese, Uganda site. These two Fellows will work hand in hand with our local staff in support of 25 local Ugandan non-profits.

With the additional support added by the interns and Fellows, FCDE looks to continue increasing the impact it has on the communities in which it works.  The last six months has seen the number of beneficiaries we support increase by 25%. We have also increased the annual funds injected into the communities we support by 20% to over $150,000.

We couldn't make these dramatic changes withour support from people like you.

Thank you,

Eric
