Hello Girl Child Champion,
I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out to you to share our menstrual health campaign and seek your support to raise 5000 sustainable reusable period kits for 5000 underprivileged girls in Eastern Uganda. The issue of menstrual health affects millions of girls and young women across the globe, and unfortunately, it is still a taboo subject in many societies.
Access to menstrual products and education on menstrual hygiene can be a significant barrier for women and girls, especially those living in poverty. In fact, many girls are forced to use unhygienic materials like old rags or newspapers during their period, which can lead to infections and diseases.
This is where your support can make a real difference. By donating to our menstrual health campaign, you can help provide young girls with access to safe and effective menstrual products, as well as education on how to manage their periods in a healthy way.
Your donation will contribute to the empowerment of a girl child, giving her the opportunity to participate fully and confidently in her daily life. It will also help break the taboo around menstrual health and promote gender equality.
I understand that there are many causes vying for your attention, but I urge you to consider supporting our menstrual health initiative. Every little bit counts, and your contribution can help improve the lives of countless women and girls.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

How your support empowers a girl child?
Access to reusable pads and menstrual cups provides a girl child with the means to manage her periods with dignity. With easy access to menstrual materials, girls are able to take control of their own hygiene and practice effective hygiene management. This helps reduce the risk of infection due to inadequate sanitation.
Further more, access to menstrual materials can help reduce the stigma attached to menstruation and empower girls to talk about their menstrual health with friends and family.
In addition, access to menstrual materials can provide girls with financial autonomy as they are not reliant on buying products. This means they can spend their money on other needs such as school fees and essentials.
With easy access to menstrual materials, girls are more likely to attend school regularly and stay in school, allowing them to reach their full potential.

GIRLS SHOULD HAVE EQUAL ACCESS TO EDUCATION.
In many rural areas, parents tend to think that boys should be in schools while girls stay home doing house work or getting married off as soon as they begin their periods. At Kyobe foundation we strongly believe that all children should be supported to go to school so that they are able to realize their dreams and aspirations.
Girls unlike boys are many times forced to abandon school due to many reasons including lack of sanitary pads, Teenage Pregnancy, menstrual pain, lack of guidance and lack of school fees as boys are paid for first.
This is why we decided to start School clubs where we meet with girls and encourage them to stay focused on their education, We help to build their self esteem and confidence, we support the less advantaged girls with sanitary pads so that they can attend school everyday , we also support schools with water tanks as a means of saving girls from walking long distances in search for water.

Your donation to the "pad a girl" project helped tackle period poverty but What is period poverty?
Period poverty is so many things. It is the inadequate accesss to mentrual health care. It is a lack of proper sanitation conditions and products to have safe hygienic periods. It is the heavy stigma and shame burdening so many young girls during their periods. It is the inability to continue on with education once menstruation begins. It is early marriage yes period poverty leads to child marriages. It is holding back girls back from realising their full potential. We need to break menstruation stigma.
