The systems and institutions of capitalism have proven their value over time by raising incomes and living standards not only for Americans but also for people throughout the world. However, our form of Capitalism needs to be reformed to include traditionally underrepresented groups if it is to remain viable and vibrant for the long term. CED plans to engage local and national groups, who traditionally represent liberal, conservative, and non-partisan thinking, to diversify the conversation.

CED publishes reports that highlight essential yet overlooked insights about the challenges faced by capitalism in the current economic and political climate, along with the business community's role in addressing these challenges. Recent reports focus on topics such as early education, long-term unemployment, tax reform, and campaign finance reform - all critical issues with interests held by a diverse group of stakeholders.

Long-Term Impact

The Sustainable Capitalism project seeks to ensure that the U.S. system of free enterprise is fairer, benefits all Americans, and remains viable for the long-term by enhancing the lives of future generations.
