Sustainability Week program transforms the lives of 9800+ secondary students into becoming sustainability role models. this program targets rural schools with little to no knowledge about sustainability and awards top students, 70% being girls from impoverished communities scholarships to pursue their STEM and environmental studies. Education is the cornerstone of sustainable development yet there are currently 1.8 billion young people (aged 10-24) worldwide and over half of this population will not have the skills necessary to participate in the emerging global workforce. the current society is living on the costs of future generations, problems such as climate change and unemployment are alarmingly emergent. very few girls in Rwandan rural communities can only make it to STEM and environment-related courses.

This program more explicitly addresses the challenges of quality and equity in education. enables for more stewards of climate actions and shape children in a way that they will be able to handle complex issues of our time and in the future, alleviating their families from extreme poverty and contributing to a climate-resilient and sustainable future of our society overall.
