Challenge

Our education system has not succeeded to give equal opportunities to access to quality education to all the children especially the children from remote areas and disadvantaged communities. Most of them if not all, are pushed to child labour and are remained unskilled workers when grown up. This ultimately increases their vulnerability and leads them deeper into poverty. This is exacerbated by gender inequality and cultural attitudes which manifest as pressure to marry young and be illiterate

Solution

Run 25 community based supportive education centers for children of 6 - 15 years age in villages of Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Mahesana. Provide life skills trainings - both hard skills and soft skills to children. Conduct vocational trainings and computer trainings for children to develop entrepreneur skills from childhood. Conduct career counseling for children of 10th grade.Develop various tools and material to make the education interactive and participatory.Publish children's newsletter

Long-Term Impact

1500 Children of marginalised population would have access to quality education and learning opportunities while incorporating critical &essential life-skills education for their development. It would strengthen children's ability to participate and take action on issues that affect their lives and development for long term. This would establish an integrated and effective model for child safety which will impact in creating favourable condition for their and for other children growth.
