The mission of SENDFiNGO is to improve the socio economic wellbeing of the resource poor women and men in Ghana by developing credit unions with microfinance orientation. Our project contributes in improving livelihoods through the establishment of Community credit unions that provides access to affordable and client friendly financial services to women and men in trade and farming activities with the aim to graduate them into the credit unions.
Most of our clients make their living in the informal economy as peasant farmers, petty traders, shea butter processors, rice processors in the eastern corridor of northern Ghana which is resource poor and conflict prone. With SENDFINGO, these communities are assisted with revolving seed capital to engage in Agriculture related activities and petty trading. Profits generated by the women are invested in better nutrition, healthcare and education for themselves and their children.
All of the funds received by this project will go directly to the women production loan scheme and micro lending. In the village of Nassamba , women are actively engage in cultivating Maize and groundnuts. They work as a group and plans to use the loans to expand their farms and businesses. 1000 more women (if funding comes in) will be funded.
SENDFiNGO does not help the poor; rather, we empower resource poor women and men to sustain their climb out of poverty. The project will educate 1000 women and children to create wealth through savings and access to credit which will provide for the Families' health, shelter, education and well being.
