AKWOS is keeping on empowering not only Women but also Youth through various initiatives focusing on its mission to strengthen their capacities and improve their lives. Thus we organized a workshop with ASHOKA staff in East Africa in preparation of the Rwanda Youth Venture Program 2015.

The workshop took place in the weekend of 10 to 12 October 2014 in Kigali View Hotel. The main purpose of this workshop was to train the youth to develop their social and business skills I entrepreneurship, strengthen their innovative ideas in order to fight poverty.

This idea came after realizing that thousands of youth are graduating with limited chances of getting jobs. Then we came up with the great idea of “RWANDA YOUTH VENTURE PROGRAM” that we shared and want to implement in Rwanda, in collaboration with ASHOKA.

For this workshop, AKWOS was able to sensitize 100 youths after who will be trained as mentors, after which they will engage 10 youths per each ready to launch this new idea in January 2015 with 1000 youths across the country. These numbers involve both girls and boys between 12 and 22 years of age.
