How is an egg shortage related to a backpack filled with school supplies? It’s a weird connection, but trust me that it is. With the supply of everyday items becoming less consistently available, the prices per item have increased. And it’s not just eggs. Gas per gallon, fresh produce, and rent have increased prices.
When these essential items become more expensive, budgets are strained even further. This is where the backpacks come in. The choice seems impossible when the decision between backpacks and school supplies is weighed against food, gas, and rent.
Family Giving Tree recognizes how equally important backpacks and school supplies are to Bay Area children as food and housing, and the financial burden that is alleviated when those things are provided for. When kids feel prepared to learn, their confidence soars and sparks a passion for learning. This year our Back-to-School Drive hopes to provide backpacks filled with grade-appropriate supplies to 28,000 Bay Area students. Your support will help them rise to new academic heights!
