This project helps 200 returned families in Masisi, North Kivu (DRC) by distributing school uniforms and learning kits to children who were displaced by armed conflict. Many returned home with nothing, and their children, still traumatized by war, now face school without uniforms, books, or supplies. We provide essential tools so they can return to class with dignity, hope, and the chance for a better future.
The conflict in eastern DRCongo has displaced thousands. Families returning to Masisi often find their homes destroyed and their resources depleted. Children, the most vulnerable, are unable to return to school due to lack of uniforms and supplies. Without education, these young survivors face a cycle of poverty, trauma, and instability, missing the opportunity to rebuild their future.
We will distribute school uniforms and kits (notebooks, pens, backpacks, etc.) to 200 children from returned families in Masisi. This will enable them to return to school with dignity and proper materials. Working with local schools and community leaders, we'll ensure each child is equipped for the academic year, promoting reintegration and long-term educational continuity for war-affected children.
This project will restore access to education for 200 war-affected children in north Kivu, breaking the cycle of trauma and poverty. Educated children are more likely to become self-reliant, support their communities, and lead change. The project also strengthens community resilience, as returning families regain dignity and hope through their children's success. Education is not just a right it's a foundation for peace and development.
