Farmer working in Dal Mill.
Hope you are well. Many thanks for your continuing support to our project – ‘Profit for Poor Farmers’. With this letter, I am sharing a progress report on the project you are supporting. For your benefit, a brief summary of the activities carried out so far are given below –
During the reporting period, the farmers acquired 3,099 kgs of raw tuar (pigeon peas) at an average rate of Rs. 34 (US$0.72) per kg. Due to the poor condition of the machinery, it was planned to set the processing target low as compared to the last year. Later, it was realized that profits can be made if processing is carried out. Therefore, out of the total procured Dal, 215 kg was sold as seeds and remaining was processed.
A total of 1,765 kg of Dal was sold at the rate of Rs. 70/- kg and remained byproducts and husks were around 910 kgs, which they sold at the nearest local market. This year we had total sale of Rs. 145,275 (USD 3,027) and registered profit of Rs. 41,738 (approximately USD 870). I hope you will enjoy reading more details in the report enclosed.
Once again, thank you for your steady support. We would be very happy to hear your thoughts and comments on the report, if any.
With warm regards,
