Project Report | Nov 25, 2023
Mt. Kilimanjaro Fundraising Campaign

By Johnson Dickson | Project Leader

Our primary objective is securing funding to enable local therapists to participate in vital clinical training and workshops. By empowering these therapists with additional clinical expertise, we make a substantial investment in the well-being of our community members. Equipped with enhanced training, therapists can address diverse physical health challenges more effectively, fostering a supportive environment for those seeking assistance. Sustained access to ongoing clinical development is pivotal for upholding the standard of care.

To underscore our commitment, our Country Director undertook a remarkable journey, summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. This expedition symbolizes therapists' challenges in advancing rehabilitation services within our community. Our skill-sharing project seeks to bridge the gap in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by offering collaboratively developed opportunities worldwide. This initiative aims to boost local therapists' skills, knowledge, and confidence, fostering an international professional community. We have engaged with Tanzanian therapists to express the significant benefits of such a program.

We firmly believe that strengthening the skills and knowledge of the therapist community in Tanzania will contribute to a better understanding and appreciation of the profession. This, in turn, will facilitate further clinical innovation and research, allowing Tanzanian therapists to shape clinically contextual guidelines and practices. Access to clinical skills training enhances service user outcomes and experiences and positions Tanzanian therapists as leaders in their field.
