Springville School brings together children and youths who would not have got an opportunity to acquire quality education. 90% of the children are on full scholarships. 10% pay subsidized fees. Your donation will go along way in supporting needy and vulnerable children in the rurals of Kenya meet their fees, school uniforms, transport, nutritious meals, books and stationery and medications. We value education as the only tool to bridge the gaps of unemployment, poverty and illiteracy.
Vihiga County is a densely populated area with socio economic share of problems. Among the residents are the single parents who make the propitious majority. It is located in Kenya. The established challenges in this rural setting include but not limited to high poverty rate, high school drop out rate both at primary and secondary level, early marriages, pre marital pregnancy leading to fatal abortions, drug abuse and inadequate schools.
Investment in education is a worthy cause as it would go a long way in improving the living standards of children, youths and their families at large. The Kenyan education system mirrors this inequality of opportunity. While there are progressive education policies in place, impressive academic institutions, and public education is provided at both primary and secondary level, education often fails to reach people in remote and poor communities.
At the end of the project the Vihiga County community will have the following as the quantitative indicators. 1. Increased school enrollment in the area 2. Reduced school drop out cases 3. High transition rate from pre-primary, primary to secondary. 4. Improved retention of pupils in school 5. Raised secondary school enrollment 6. Better opportunity for employment 7. General improvement in literacy level in both boys and girls
