Summary

This pandemic context puts many children in a very delicate situation. In order that these children do not lose their educational year which would leave them in an even worse condition of social vulnerability, Mensajeros de la Paz considers it necessary to continue providing free primary education to more than 250 remotely underprivileged and neglected children between 5 and 13 years of age in Argentina.

Challenge

The COVID 19 pandemic puts many children in a worse place if they do not have access to the Internet or to devices such as computers, at least 45% of children in the region do not have Internet access at home. This situation is aggravated by the low level of quality of pre-pandemic education in children, compared to the larger cases of children living in poverty who are marginalised from the system. That is why It is fundamental to give them remote classes to stack the problem.

Solution

This project provides children with educational support and recreational activities. This context was presented as a hard challenge. Nevertheless, our certified and paid professional teachers still conduct educational exercises and art workshops for the children in a remote way by WhatsApp. Our simple approach lessens the equal-opportunity gap of children from poor communities.

Long-Term Impact

By empowering over 250 children with education, we are strengthening their resilience to life challenges, opening doors of opportunities for their future, improving their confidence, and inspiring hope. Improved education opportunities will ensure a better future for these children and their subsequent generations.
