2 class groups of 200 children ages 9 to 12years from Government primary schools,Varadharajapuram, S. India will be sponsored for 3 days in-house study camp at SERFAC.This camp will be a medium for them to know about life beyond their village.Many things are learnt from books but rhave no opportunity to see or visit.Hence SERFAC wants to expose them to what they learn about, like post office, bank, police station,flower gardens, museum and library so they can relate to their subject learning.
Children in Varadarajapuram village have little opportunity of seeing about what they learn about.Consequently their .Intellectual curiosity is not stimulated and immagination is not stirred about what they learn.Their curiosity is often limited to television movies.Because SERFAC is counselling many young boys and girls weaning them of television addiction,boys being counselled for drugs and an aid to help them study beyond school and television SERFAC is taking up organIsing these annual camp
This project will take them out of the village and school premises and help thenm interact with other children and adults and learn about life beyond books,school,television and village boundaries.They will learn about subject contents by seeing what they have been learning about. eg.in the zoo they will see tigers, lions etc.They will know what a microscope looks like and and after visiting a medical museum.Therfore the education camps will in every way be beneficial to them, their intellect
Children will learn beyond books and have an experience of the world beyond school, village and television.While being intellectually alert and curious they will be eager to learn/study more and be assets to their family and community,better perons in society and nation.They will nurture ambition, be productive, will want to stuudy more and work to help others and support other children in their chools. They will improve the standard and ambitions of the communitry and be role models for others.
