In April 2007, Dr. George Gregory traveled to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to lead a one-week training workshop for 100 Vietnamese physicians and nurses. Dr. Gregory, a renowned pediatric anesthesiologist at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center, used both lectures and hands-on teaching methods to pass on his specialized anesthesia skills to the group. The participants in this workshop will be able to put their new knowledge to use immediately - thus improving the standard of care for pediatric anesthesia in Vietnam.
Thanks to the support of donors like you, Interplast was able to carry out 19 workshops like this over the past 12 months. By providing medical training, Interplast is working to empower doctors in the developing world to treat the poor in their own communities.
