Dabaga Institute of Agriculture has constructed the buildings such as classes, dormitories and administration blocks; the construction activities are on progress: with the resources available the college has managed to enroll few students due to lack of enough accommodation and learning facilities. This project intends to mobilize resources that will provide the opportunity for more students have an access to better and effective learning environment to the college.
Poverty and hunger in Tanzania rural communities is attributed by shortage of experts in agricultural sector. The need for technical education is of high demand this lead Dabaga institute of agriculture fail to accommodate big number of students who applied to join the college for 2016/2017 academic year in which out of 360 Students who applied for studies only 49 students were enrolled. The main reason were the shortage of Learning facilities. This project will affect more than 50 students.
The project will solve the following problems: To Provide Furnitures such as bed, mattresses, tables, cupboards, bookshelves, White board, cutains and chairs for the dormitory and classroom that will accommodate 50 students. Books and practical learning equipment's are provided. 2 Staff members are supported with the tuition fee for Masters program.
The project will provide learning facilities that will allow the college to enroll more students into agriculture studies. The graduate will be able to share the learnt knowledge to their communities, which will foster the agricultural production hence reducing hunger and poverty. The scholarship provided to teachers will increase the institution capacity in terms of qualified staffs.
