Due to conflict in Northern Pakistan for the last 10 years, between the terrorists and military, millions of people became internally displaced. The most vulnerable among this displaced population was the dancing & singer community of Swat, who were the first, being targeted by terrorists because music & dance was banned by terrorists/Taliban.These terrorists totally eroded this singer and dancing community where they were living for the last one century. This project will help to rehabilitate them.
Dancing community was a large community living as minority in Swat, Pakistan before militants occupation of this area. When the militants occupied this area, their first target was this singer community as they considered that this community is spreading vulgarity in the local community.Due to militants atrocities these people left their houses and soon fled away due to fear of execution. Now to some extent the law and order has been restored, there is a need to rehabilitate these singer community
Terrorists occupied the whole Swat region and later on banned women movement and especially singer community. They executed the local singer community members; most of them fled to far away cities of Pakistan. The peace has been restored to some extent, now in these post conflict situations,it is our foremost duty to rehabilitate this singer and dancing community. The project will help to rehabilitate this community by providing Psycho-social counseling, will help them to restore their old profession
Now in post conflict society, it is urgently required to work for the rehabilitation of this singer and dancing community, otherwise they will lose their position and value in this area where they and their forefathers had established themselves from hundred years back. This project will help to rehabilitate their lost heritage/(dancing and singing), will give them music instruments and will arrange different exhibitions, music and dancing shows. Also their children will be send back to schools.
