Breast Cancer Haven provides, completely free of charge, a wide range of therapies which help people to deal with the physical and emotional side effects of breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common type of non-skin cancer in the world. In the UK, a woman's lifetime risk of developing breast cancer has risen from 1 in 9 to 1 in 8. That's around 130 women diagnosed every day, with nearly 12,000 women dying of breast cancer every year. Cancer treatment is often stressful and debilitating. Our project will help breast cancer patients - and their families - achieve the best possible quality of life, not only during their treatment but long into the future.
Breast Cancer Haven provides, completely free of charge, a wide range of therapies which help people to deal with the physical and emotional side effects of breast cancer - and over 90% of our Visitors feel that our support was essential to their recovery.
We will provide 100 new breast cancer patients with the support, information and skills to maximise self-management of their illness, rebuild their well-being, and transform their quality of life. We will also give their families support and advice.
