The work must go on, despite funding limitations. Hence, this year we made some cheap and temporary fences using locally sourced bamboo and we planted only 500 seedlings. This was done with some wellwishers and with interested neighbours.
Some of the species planted: Careya arborea, Manilkara hexandra, Walsura trifoliata, Drypetes sepiaria, Cassine glauca, Pterocarpus santalinus, P. marsupium, Pterospermum suberifolium, P. xylocarpum, Tricalysia sphaerocarpa, Bauhinia racemosa
The advantage of keeping operations small is that the people involved get to learn more about what is being done. From there it becomes easier to scale up so it worked out fine for this year. Hopefully we speed up a bit in the next season.
