The Daasanach Development Organization aims with this specific project to provide the change for an Education for these very disadvantage and most vulnerable girls in this region! It is our desire to empower these young girls and women in the process and create a better future for themselves and their families! Your contribution will make a huge differences in these girls life's and will have a great impact on the Daasanach community!
Almost all Daasanach girls and young women in Northern Kenya are dealing with various issues related to being a tribal minority, women's empowerment rights, FGM and early marriages, to name a few. They are among the most vulnerable of Kenya's population: cultural barriers, religious and tribal customs, extreme poverty, prejudice and geographically remote homes, all contributing to the very low rates of school enrollments for these girls! Education for a girl is virtually impossible.
With this funding we will give more girls and young women the opportunity to access education, provide them with a different outlook on what their lives may have to offer for them, and protect them from FGM and early marriages. This will open up an opportunity, that otherwise would remain inaccessible and impossible.
This project aims at giving young girls from disadvantaged & very poverty stricken backgrounds a right to education, empower them and giving them an opportunity to reach to their full potentials and make an impact on the Daasanach community.
