The Bridge Leadership Foundation plans to send 600 rural children to school in Bakassi and Akpabuyo communities of Cross River State who cannot otherwise afford education or have no parents/guardian to cater for them. The project will setup learning support centers to provide literacy support services and enroll them to schools on partial and full time scholarship. Your donations will go towards setting up 6 centers, school fees, uniforms, sandals, socks, text books, and notebooks
A recent report from survey conducted on out of school children shows that 33.3% of 7,945 school age children (between 5-14 years) are out of school in Bakassi while 30.6% of 109,118 school age children are out of school in Akpabuyo. While efforts are made to address this challenge by some agencies, increasingly, these children are falling victims of kidnap, cultism, outlaws and hard labor. This project will provide 600 children from these communities with an education and family support.
The Bridge Leadership Foundation will set up 6 learning support centers in these communities to provide literacy support services, enroll 600 affected children into school, pay school fees, uniforms, socks/sandals, school bags, textbooks and notebooks. The counselors and volunteers on the project are trained to provide personalized support to the children all year round while the parents/guardians are supported with knowledge and skills to sustain the children's development.
The project will provide education and family support to 600 children from rural communities of Bakassi and Akpabuyo which will help reduce social vices like cultism, forced labor, illiteracy and poverty. This will promote families' well being, improve child development, build stronger societies and attract growth and development to these communities while the children are better positioned to achieve their dreams and goals.
