Dear Friends,
January was a good month, filled with blessings, Joy and God’s favour upon us and loved ones. Continuing has been the love, care, support and education of over 40 vulnerable children. What an achievement. Thank you, our loving Heavenly Father, and thank you for your continuing support. Thanks for touching lives.

I have been honored to Lead GLS this year but I feel my legs are tied up from other activities like Visiting the farm regularly etc –Pray that People have entrusted with farm will do to the expectation . I continue supervising the classroom block school buildings attached...
The farm has given us beans
Thanks giving news
1- Our primary seven students excelled. Passing in only the top two levels to Uganda National examination board
2- Children are doing very well, health wise, feeding etc.
3- Our New classroom block is under usage. God has been generous to us through supporters.
4- The year has started well
Prayer Request
1- Our Australian friend to be able to hit the 6 months target of raising some funds for building project. We are praying to acquire 50ft x 100ft plot of land close to our purpose built school placed on 50ft x 150ft. ,We shown this plot to our GG Infield Traveler last year2018 , who would be able to explain how vital , it would be to our children if acquired .We hope to put on Toilets for the school and part of it act as our small playground for the children. This is worth’s 38M ,including legal costs etc. comes to 40M
2- God’s protection and peace for our children throughout the year 2019
3- Our GLS extension to thrive- We are trying to help those who have finished primary seven to acquire a secondary education at relatively cheaper cost
4- Regular funder to come on board. We are praying for $1,150 monthly for 5 years to be able to maintain the support we are giving. Any contact to friends outside there will be appreciated.
5- GLS Classroom block to be well finished, furnished and a library to be put in place.
6- Pray for a another chance for the In Field Traveler from GlobalGiving expected this year- I have an email already mentioning another Uganda and Rwanda visit this year – Last year was an excellent one learning from them as they learn from us .
Quote from the In-the-Field Traveler in 2018“James and his team are a passionate group of people. They are truly helping the needs of the community by housing and educating vulnerable young people. GLH goes beyond education by helping those who want to pursue vocational” Thank you so much yet again.

Dear Friends,                                                               14-11-18

Thank you for your continued support to GLS, GLV and GLH. God has given us another chance to share about the school progress.  We have made some progress on our current building project of Classroom Block and farm house-Praise the Lord!  The Global Giving evaluator’s visit was a welcome one. It was great learning from them as they learn from us. I attach their observation report below:

GLS Teaching continue to Improve with students doing more of personal reading, group discussion .We do hope that this exercise will produce a good feedback for our primary seven children who are currently preparing for their final examination  due  next month.

The Science Teacher consultant left us after doing a good Job to our children. We wish him the best.

      Prayer Request

1-Regular funder to come on board. We are praying for $1,150 monthly for 5 years to be able to maintain the support we are giving. Any contact to friends outside there will be appreciated.

2-GLS Classroom block to be well finished and School text books

3-Classroom chairs, Tables needed.

4-Our faithful supporters with a good missionary heart –The Lord may bless them heaps and heaps.

5-Our final school term goes well.

Note from the In-the-Field Traveller
Visiting GLH was a pleasure! They were great hosts, they gave a great tour of their classrooms and other projects and made me feel welcome from the start. They seemed very interested the whole time and the entire organisation was very easy to get along with. James, keep up the good work! I am looking forward to seeing more posts on Facebook and Twitter, and seeing how you can use the local community to fundraise.

Recommendation for how to better use GlobalGiving
James and his team should all familiarise themselves more with GlobalGiving systems. For example, keeping their superstar status should be easy with the webinar's and learning cycles that we ran through. Keep trying to run through these as a team. Try and do networking mapping with the whole organisation and board. Fundraising is a team effort!

Feedback on your programs
When creating new projects on GlobalGiving, use specific examples and stories of the students. Remember to create a specific call to action from the person reading and use the 5 building blocks for writing a compelling story.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your continued support to GLS and GLH. God has given us another chance to share about the school progress.  We have had guardians meeting where we discussed plans for their children-  Shared about our Child protection Policy and explained about child abuse forms (Physical, sexual and Emotional) –GLH shall continue following these forms of abuses .  We encouraged parents about prompt fees payments for those who pay

Other GLH life

There have been study tours to Kidepo National park, Kampala city square and Museums . Children had exposure to practical aspects of what they study in class. They saw amazing wild animals and appreciated how they adapt to their living environment.GLS Teaching continue to Improve with students doing more of personal reading, group discussion see attached photo of  children  discussing . We are buying school text books from any small money that comes in to support the reading habit of our children.

Several members are now working at our farm to help with Children food production.

We welcome Jakisa Nyitho, our Science consultant Teacher.  He is here to volunteer by teaching our primary 7 class. We pray that his time with us is smooth. The classroom block construction is ongoing The foundation raised is very strong that it could hold any future build given the finances.  Friends have suggested for a temporary roof as we wait for the Lord to provide in the future.

Sad news.   GLH children lost their lovely cat they named it ‘’LOVE’’ it was buried on 10/o7/2018 in deep sadness since it has been showing them love and helping to chase rats at GLH. Some children cried in the process of paying their last respect. May God bring comfort to our children and trust God for another lovely Cat.

       Prayer Request

1-Regular funder to come on board. We are praying for $1,150 monthly for 5 years to be able to maintain the support we are giving. Any contact to friends outside there will be appreciated.

2-GLS Classroom block to be finished and School text books

3-Classroom chairs, Tables when the class block is finished.

4-The Lord to talk to one brother about his visit to GLH this year or early next year 2019. He has deeply encouraged us to move in the Lord we love him so much –Pray that the Lord will provide $5,000 for his air ticket to Uganda.

5-Global Giving Visit this year and that the Lord provide protection/safety.

6-Our GLH team to thrive and that we are able to have a farm house there as soon as possible.

Blessings,

James Mukiibi

Dear Friends,

Through your continued support over 40 children have been supported; loved, clothed, fed, educated and given a future. Thank you so much; every donation and donor is special: thank you so much

Money has gone to James Mukiibi from UK in two ways.

A total of £3309 has been given to me and I have given a receipt to each donor.

More has been given through direct debit via GlobalGiving. (They can claim Gift Aid for GLH though they take a %)

What are the highlights of the year?

First is the obvious.   40+ children have been supported: housed, fed, loved and educated: a huge thing to celebrate.  “Thank you”. James’s continuing problem is to get regular funding. We have several AIDS orphans and so far James has been unable to get regular support even for them

James started a small vocational unit (GLV) for the post primary girls learning dress making and hair dressing. The unit was affiliated to a local College and the girls all passed the end of year exam despite having limited equipment. “Tools with a Mission” (they collect used tools from UK and send them overseas) have donated sewing machines so this year even more progress should be possible.

End of year celebrations

God’s Love School (GLS ) opens the final class this

month and they will sit the primary leaving exam next November. The school has two aims.. to provide a good Christ-centered education and, through selling surplus places help fund GLH. In the past the % of fees that have been paid has been low: in 2017 this was done more efficiently. The real limitation is in the size of the rooms limiting the class size. They are in the process of building a small classroom block so the final years will be a good size. An Australian friend of GLH has given enormous practical help here

A generous American friend has kindly bought a small farm about 20km from GLH; this should  help feed GLH

There have also been lowlights (if there is such a word)

Recently one of our senior girls was kidnapped and held for ransom or she would be killed. Initial demands were for over £1000 but she was released for much less.  I am so relieved but she has been through a real trauma. When people have little it is so easy to envy those with a little more.  (Kidnapping can have a dreadful outcome; you might refer to “Susan Magara” on the internet).   One of the older orphans has graduated with a first class diploma in Law; lacking the right contacts he is finding it hard to get a permanent job

James mother has been very ill. James himself is getting over typhoid

So a very big thank you but can you turn these dry points into living prayer. As usual if I can answer any queries please raise them  01633 615339

Dear Friends,

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018!

Our focus remains firmly on the needs of our orphans.  Let me tell you about some of the other things that have happened last year 2017.

a)       A generous gift enabled us to purchase the GLH farm – 11 acres in Luwero District some miles away from GLH –This is a big asset as we can now do farming. You will remember that we had been loaned land in Masindi 5 acres but our time ended before getting good output and when we wanted to purchase it, the owner wanted much. Farming started straight away and harvesting has already been realised. See some photos attached. Sweet potatoes, Tomatoes

b)      Thanks to your continued support our Children were fed with an Improved diet and we have educated our children –They have clearly developed well.

c)       I have really been encouraged by advice from an American friend

d)      An Australian Friend Visited GLH last year on 14/July/2017 –It was a lovely visit He was able to suggest a plan for our building needs which has started working. He loved and appreciated our children and encouraged us to go for farming too due to increased needs of the children. Sadly, he retired from most of GLH Jobs but we are so grateful for all that was achieved through him.

e)      GLV graduated with certificates in practical skills in Tailoring , Hairdressings etc . We got vocational tools through “Tools with a Mission” like Sewing machines , carpentry etc

f)       Started on a classroom block building and this continues  with a foundation already done

As the children grow their needs change but seem endless? could it be that God is testing our patience for bigger blessings? Please don’t get tired with us until we see his Glory.  We are urgently looking for;

1)      Feeding supporting for this year 2018 –$40 will feed and Educate one orphan for a month.

2)      We are looking for Institutional regular funding of $ 1,150 monthly for 5 years to be able to maintain our support and finally get to self-sustainability.

3)        We are building our classroom block and we hope that God will provide –This classroom is expected to be used in April for a second term and will be used in asking for Examination centre number which is highly needed for our Primary seven students.

4)      We need Volunteers to come down and help with building presumably Plumber, Electrician and builder (Three Volunteers will help) the classroom building need these services. We have just finished with the Foundation and now we need to raise walls and those columns then Roofing.  We would be grateful if we got these Volunteer on March/O1/2018 for the work straight away. Our foundation has been allowed one month to dry up.

Blessings,

James
