Since the 1960s, Kasese District and the Rwenzori region has been affected by both tribal and Civil Wars like the Rwenzururu Movement of 1960-1982, The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) of 1996 and the recent Government attack on the Rwenzurru Palace November 2016 in Kasese Town. All these have led to Poverty, Insecurity and Loss of lives especially Men, as a result very Many Women have been left Widows who on their have totally failed to Meet basic needs for their Children.
-Training of 140 Widows in Handiwork Skills ( e. g Weaving Baskets, Mats, Carrions, Sweat Knitting, Making Pots and Reusable Sanitary Pads. -Giving a StartUp Capital to 140 Widows. -Marketing Widow's Products -Starting Up a small Savings and Credit Association that will help them Save and acquire Credit on a favourable interest in order for them to quckily Meet their Basic needs.
This Project Will Train 140 Widows and enable them raise out of Poverty, and be able to Provide for their Children's Education, Pay Medical bills, and to a large extend improve their Quality of Life. It is believed that if this Project is funded, Implemented and Properly Monitored, it will accelerate their Financial status and make them self reliant.
