We are seeking financial support to build a dormitory of 100 girls sexually abused and victims of wars for them to be safe and get free education...The civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo has caused and continue to cause great insecurity. People are fleeing Eastern Congo. Many are girls and young laddies who have lost their parents, homes and chance of normal life. But these girls have become victims of sexual abused , death , crimes ...as a result of a life on the streets.
As said above, the civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo has caused and continue to cause great insecurity. People are fleeing Eastern Congo. Many are children (girls and laddies)who have lost their parents, homes, and chance of normal life. At present RAAPS-UK has recruited 100 girls who spent nights outside as a consequence of sexual violence, deaths, crimes against them. Instead of a life on the streets, we aim to provide a home(dormitory) to be a place where they can live safely .
RAAPS-UK will provide a dormitory for them, meal and medicine to these girls as well as looking after their health. There are RAAPS-UK volunteers from Congo who are in charge of their well-being in collaboration with Roman catholic Churches and other people interested in the project.
The project will help and assist 100 girls (laddies) to live safely and have a chance to recover their normal life. It will also help them to have free education that will allow them to rise out of poverty as a result of their well-being.
