Challenge

Street children, the less fortunate and most vulnerable children roam the street all day in search of food, money and friendships. Some are orphans single parents born out of wedlock; other come from families who are the poorest of the poor, unable to provide for their children. Living on the streets inhibits their growth and development and puts them at risk to myriad of infectious diseases. Substance abuse is nearly common a among the street children most have been harassed by the community.

Solution

The project seek to improve the lives of the street children by empowering them with hope, knowledge, skills, opportunities and resources necessary for them to find their healthy alternative to street life. These paths are as follows: 1.Returning to school 2.Learning a skill 3.Gaining employment 4.Starting a business. 5.Reuniting with their families 6.Living communally or even living independently.

Long-Term Impact

The project will eradicate poverty and reduce the increasing number of children who are not able to access basic education due to poverty. 1.We will provide early childhood education to 100 children. 2.We will provide counseling to traumatized children 3.We will educate the community on child rights and abuse with emphasis on sexual abuse. 4 We will address the vulnerable children living in slums who are completely ignored by society and Government.
